Vittra school Sweden
Imagine going to a school where classes are not held in a four-walled classroom.
This is the newest Vittra school, Telefonplan, designed by Copenhagen-based studio Rosan Bosch. The “classrooms” are open plan, designed so children can work independently on the whimsical benches, or gather around a giant amphitheatre. There is also “the village” – a tiny house for collaborative work.
Every element that contributes to this spatial experience has been uniquely designed to foster the children’s curiosity and creativity. Even the furniture was custom made to help students to engage in conversations while working on projects.
This Swedish school is non-traditional in every sense. Students learn in groups at their level, not necessarily by age. Makes me wish I could become a kid again and go back to school.

Taschen at Beverly Hills
German publisher, Taschen, is considered by many admirers to be the king of coffee table books. Their stylized art books are known to be the publishing equivalent of haute couture.
As you would imagine, their concept stores are just as stunning as the books they produce.
When you walk off the busy streets of Beverly Hills into the Taschen bookstore, you feel as though you have walked into a lavish private library. A place so contemporary, elegant and calm.
As you adventure further in the store, illuminated shelves are lined with sleek, large-scale volumes on artists, architects, photographers and designers. The floors are decked out with dark glossy wood panels and the ceiling and walls are covered by murals inspired by the books. This Philippe Starck designed interior creates the perfect setting for these works of art.
Special thanks to Theo Pettaras of Digitalpress for telling us about this exquisite place, and for the photos.

Oh, wibbly, wobbly jelly
When you think of fishmongers, you think of someone who sells fish. What about jelly mongers? Well, jelly of course!
Recognised as the UK’s jelly mongers, the remarkable duo, Bompas & Parr have combined art and food taking their particular commodity to new heights, perceptions and flavours. They have gone beyond ordinary flavours to inventing their own like elderflower, bacon and even trifles dusted in gold. Thanks to Parr’s architectural expertise they have moved from modest takeaway containers to producing very impressive architectural moulds.
Nonetheless, the scale of their work has not been constrained by how big the mould is. This incredible pair has the most infectious enthusiasm; they constantly challenge the conventional and believe anything is possible. Subsequently, they have produced glow-in-the-dark jelly installations and held an Architectural Jelly Banquet.
We are completely obsessed by their creations and it sure has inspired us to hold a jelly banquet in our own homes!
Space ship, art gallery or train station?
The train station – to many people it conjures thoughts of milkshake stained walls, floors plastered with discarded chewing gum and just an overall unpleasant experience. However, if you live in Stockholm, Prague, Barcelona or Munich, (just to name a few) then you're lucky enough to have a daily commute that puts the other subways to shame. From futuristic interiors to an underground art gallery, these cities have taken on a new approach with public transport by making it a creatively stimulating experience. It's hard not to have a smile on your face when arriving at these vibrant locations!

Ever wondered what happens when you fuse architecture into typography?
Maybe not, but we have stumbled upon the very talented London based designer Chris Labrooy who obviously has. His work is brilliant and we just had to share it with you.
Chris’ out of the ordinary design skills take designing typography to a whole new level. Inspired by award winning architecture, Labrooy adapts building structures and facades into typography. These letters when put together to form a word become a microcosmic land where alphabets become habitable. His three dimensional renders look so real you would almost believe they existed.
